CAM's Generate Template functionality allows users to create templates off of existing workspaces or folder lists in CAM. The Generate Template wizard is available in the Directory Tab and in the Folder Template Editor.

In the CAM interface, select the Directory tab. Filter a matter. Click into the matter.
Note: The workspace would need to be created in CAM for this ability. Use the NoTemplate functionality on CSV Import, or in the Metadata Mapping when importing from source system. Image RemovedClick the above below icon.
Image AddedOn the right-hand side of the workspace or folder grouping for the options menu, click the Generate Template button.
You will get the following screen:
 Enter the information in the fields. Fields are listed below.Click save to save your new template. The templates can be stored within Template Editor for future use within CAM. |

Field Name | Description | System | The system the workspace or Folder grouping was imported from. | Workspace Name | The name of the workspace that was selected to generate template from. | Template Name | The name of the template the user sets for the new template. By default, it puts the workspace name- Generate Template in this field. | Select Mode | Sets the mode where the template can be used. If the top level is selected, it could only be used for top level workspaces but not subfolders. Second level and below allows subfolders to be created with template. Workspace Creation will just create the top workspace. | ACL | Allows setting up the ACL security for the workspace. For NetDocuments, US, EU and AU regions are supported. |
Click save to save your new template. The templates can be stored within Template Editor for future use within CAM.

You can also access the Generate Template button on the Template Editor page. Open the Template Editor.

The Generate Template Wizard appears. Select the Source System. You can search within the source system to pull a workspace or folder to use directly from there. Use the search box. For iManage templates, you can use the id from iManage to use for the template editor. Set subtype=template.
