Edit Security
Overview
The Edit Security command allows the user to add or update the security of users and groups on documents, workspaces, or folders within iManage.
Permissions
Permission | Permission group | Description |
---|---|---|
View profile | Service Desk | Enables the user to view the profile of documents/workspaces/folders/directory. |
View security | Service Desk | Enables the user to view the security on a document/folder/workspace. |
View-Bulk-Security-Update-Document | DMS | Allows the user to update a document’s security using the bulk actions option. |
View-Bulk-Security-Workspace | DMS | Allows the user to view a workspaces' security using the bulk actions option. |
Options
Right-click Edit Security to update details on the record.
Default Security: Select the default security to be updated for the selected system. Options are Public, Private, and View only.
Update: Makes updates to all subfolders and files, only those inherited folders and files, or just the inherited folders.
Add: Adds a user or group to the security, with the role they should have.
The list displays current users and groups with access.
Click the pencil to edit.
Click the trash icon to delete a security record.
Click Submit when completed.
Click Save.
Warning: If a user tries to edit security and the server alias for that server is not correct in the external system configuration, the following error warning will pop up for users to take action:
”This error is due to a missing configuration in CAM. Please contact your administrator or helpdesk and share that the value is missing in the Server Alias field in the external system configuration.”
