User Provisioning

Overview

User provisioning is a type of identity management in which access rights and authorization privileges are granted and monitored. Provisioning is defined by user objects such as members, vendors, user attributes, and so on. Email, database access, and network access are examples of services that may be provided. User provisioning is identified by configuring role-based access control. Permissions, roles, groups, and users are the most common components of role-based access control. A user is assigned to a group or groups, a group is assigned to roles (for example, read-only, editor, or administrator), and a role is made up of different permissions. User provisioning is generally managed by IT and administrators.

 

CAM offers multiple methods for provisioning users and groups from external systems, including manually uploading a configured CSV through the "Upload Users" feature on the Administration tab, uploading a CSV via the Jobs tab, or configuring and scheduling an Active Directory synchronization.

 

This section describes the Create, Read, Update, and Delete (CRUD) operations on user provisioning:

Allows the user to create, update, and delete users in CAM.

Allows the user to create, update, and delete users in CAM.

Groups

Allows the user to create, add users, update, and delete groups in CAM.

Users & Groups

The Users & Groups tab on the Workspace Management, lists all the users and groups added in CAM (using Data UploaderUpload Users, or the Jobs tab). the user can verify the matters a specific user or group has access to.

Upload Users

Allows the user to add new users and groups to the workspaces using a CSV file.

Roles

Allows the user to define the CAM user roles and the permissions to be associated with that role.
