Check-out to Teams and Check-in From Teams
Overview
Document check-in / check-out in CAM commands allows users to collaborate and make changes in an organized manner while preventing the loss of shared work.
The “Check-in/Check-out“ command is enabled at the document level only if the document is synced to M365 Teams through Content Mover.

Permissions
View Check-in From | Allows to check-in from a a workspace, folder or cabinet. |
View Remote Check-in | Allows to view all remote check-in options. |
View Simple Checkin | Allows to view the simple check-in version. |
View Simple Checkout | Allows to view the simple check-out version. |
Configuring Check-out to Teams
This section describes how to configure the check-out of any document to update.
Prerequisite:
You must enable the “View Simple Checkout“ permission before check-out to Teams. For more information, see Configuring Permission in CAM.
Documents in the iManage must be synced to M365 Team through Content Mover before accessing.
Warning: If the documents/files are not synced to M365, upong navigating to Checkout to Teams, an error will be logged to notify the user.
Procedure to Checkout to Teams
Login to the iManage account
Navigate to the document under the My Matter tab
Click the following button to select Checkout to Teams.
The following screen appears:
Fields | Description |
---|---|
Selected document | Displays the name of the document to be checked out. The extension should show in Source. |
Select Target | Select the target from the list that displays all team names that match the client and matter of the selected workspace. The extension should show in Target. |
Submit | Click to initiate check-out to Teams. The following screen shows: Click Done to complete the Checkout of the document. The following message will appear: You have checked out the document from iManage. The document will shortly appear in the Microsoft Teams channel you have selected under the “Files” tab. You may now close this window |
Cancel | Click to close the dialog-box |
Tip: The Lock button appears on the selected document after checkout.
Viewing Check-out status
This section describes viewing the status of your check-out documents. You can view the check-out document status in iManage and CAM.
Procedure to view the check-out status in iManage
Click Workspace that includes checked-out documents.
Navigate to My Copy Jobs. The following screen appears:
Fields | Description |
---|---|
Source | Displays a list of the checked-out documents. |
Destination | Displays a list of the selected targets where documents were copied to Teams. |
Sync Date | Displays the date and time. |
Status | Displays the status of the job. |
Log | Displays the log status. Click Hamburger to view log details. |
Procedure to view the check-out status in CAM
Log in to your CAM account.
Click on the Administration tab.
Navigate to Content Mover.
Navigate the Action Status tab. For more information, see Action Status
Configuring Check-in from Teams
This section describes how to check in any checked-out document and make it available to members without causing conflicts.
Procedure to Check-in from Teams
Navigate to the My Matter tab.
Navigate to the checked-out document.
Click the following button to select Checkout to Teams.
The following screen appears:
Fields | Description |
---|---|
File Name | Displays the checked-out document name. Note: We support special characters like シーマテスト in the name. |
Checkin From Where | Displays the name of the folder that contains the document. |
Options | Select an option from the following list:

Submit | Click to initiate the check-in of the document and make it available to members. |
Cancel | Click to close the dialog. |
